if you live in the bay area, you've probably seen the mini cooper billboard right before you get on the bay bridge eastbound. it's a digital display with alternating catchphrases. a mildy interesting ad. then i saw , which explains that the display changes based on the proximity of certain mini drivers. apparently the mini driver has a sensor in the car which directs the billboard to display their message. that's highly technical!

that's awesome. one of the 200+ technological innovations that will be in the new a's baseball park, cisco field, will be a sensor attached to kiosks that can read the type of ticket you have in your pocket for a specific game. the kiosk, as you walk by, will display a message such as, "hi quarby, would you like to upgrade your ticket in section 99 to section 69?" you can stop and do it or keep on walking and ignore. if you take advantge of the upgrade, your new tickets will be immediately transmitted into your mobile phone, complete with bar codes.
I bet my friend PVP will run out and buy a Mini tomorrow, he loves having companies track his behavior
