learn to become a bigger music nerd/snob





ok, so you own every scott walker record. you liked baroque pop before it was cool. you collect strictly rock records on the janus and blue thumb label. you can name everyone in both miles davis quintets. you’re “over” david axelrod. you can name every band that ian mackaye was in. you prefer manfred mann’s later psychedelic funk records. you’ve memorized every discography from tyrannosaurus rex to can to pharaoh sanders to faust. but you can’t even explain the difference between house and trance? a fellow music nerd turned me onto this very thorough website that explains it all with detailed maps of evolution from 70’s ambient to 80’s detroit techno to 90’s gloomcore? try it .
