a few people have IM’d me to say that they’ve heard that died. this is horribly sad, if true. anyone have any info?

here is a link to his stones throw page. it says, “The rumors were like, ‘Jay Dee is dead’ and all that, but I was just in the hospital. I was in ICU, with all types of tubes. It was crazy.”
evidently he has been sick.

That quote about him just being in the hospital is from last year, though, when he first started having kidney problems and was hospitalized for that.
Not that its a reliable source, but the current wikipedia entry for j says this: “Jay Dee passed away on February 10, 2006. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.”
His myspace page says he logged in yesterday.
That really sucks if its true…he just released an album this week

the internet seems to be confirming this rumor. apparently the health problem was kidney trouble due to malnutrition. like he work just work all the time and forget to eat. very, sad and scary and hard to understand.
a talented man for sure. his new record sounds really interesting.
