My kids are 5 and 2, one plays guitar a little. Got to get the other one started on drums. And yes they have ear plugs. My father lost his hearing. I wonder where that kid is now???? This is a cool kid. It takes about that long to be an expert, and I hope he sticks with it, though I'd be surprised if he finds musicians at his level to play with. And it's going to be tough getting through school if he already knows what he wants to do. Won't be much point. I do suffer a slight amount of hearing loss after over 20 years of playing with no protection (before I started using plugs), and I do wish I'd worn some, but let's not blow it out of proportion and become a bunch of nitpicky little nutsacks here.
