blip.fm – kinda like muxtape, hype machine, and twitter combined

i just got turned on to the ridiculously rad music site blip.fm by sneakmove’s pal jamie flam. i’m mad i didn’t know about it sooner! the best way i can describe it is as a combination of muxtape, hype machine, and twitter. you set up a profile, search for artists or songs, and any that have been posted online by someone come up in the results. you can then “blip” a song via a short post that resembles a tweet, and anyone who sees your blip can then stream that entire song. you can also easily create playlists made up of your own blips as well as those from other users – once you’ve set one up, just hit play, and you’ve got yourself an instant online mix, with no downloads needed. it’s pretty effing slick. check out my account to listen to the songs i’ve blipped, or check out my current playlist to see which other blip users i’ve been following.
