Dave Chappelle’s Block Party was inspired by 1972’s Wattstax. Wattstax was staged in the LA Coliseum and was full of music performances by Stax Records artists. But, it was more than a concert, it was a voice for issues of love, music, politics, and the Watts riots. The DVD has been remastered and is definitely worth a looksy and a listeney.
