Hip Hop's cultural capital is on the rise folks!

This isn't the newest of news, but it is cool nonetheless. The Smithsonian is preparing for the beginnings of a permanent Hip Hop collection. The exhibit will contain objects that trace hip-hop's origins in the Bronx in the 1970s to its current global reach.

Soon elephant displays will be replaced with Biz Markie!
