saving snl’s soul

looks like snl is at it again. hiring andy samberg and the rest of the lonely island could move the yankees of comedy back from being the bologna of satire into the blinding observational force it can be.
also, something historians should note: funny people love chris parnell, who is just about as nice and consistent as they come.
(thanks, johnny elks.)

hooo man! chronic of narnia is the goodness. thanks, pete.
nice one–i haven’t seen much of snl this season but the one thing that i do keep hearing about it is these lonely island guys. the taco town skit is one of my favorites in a few years, actually.
also, i noticed that you have to click the youtube.com link to the video twice to get it to load. not sure if everyone is having that problem but i did make it work without too much problems.
whoa! the glirk skit on the lonely planet site was recreated almost exactly on snl last night. glad they’re getting to put this stuff to use.
chris parnell kicks ass. apparently he used to work at the beverly center? glad to see him get his props.

This is a huge hit! Not only was it on sneakmove this morning, but two people IM’d be the Chronic of Narnia bit this morning.
I finally just watched it, and it really is great.
My favorite line:
Roll up to the theater, ticket buyin’s what we’re handling / You can call us Aaron Burr from the way we’re droppin’ Hamiltons
Scientifically perfected to make me laugh.
Yeah, super good. And it was on SNEAKMOVE LAST NIGHT. Tell your lemming-ass link buddies that.

haha google maps versus yahoo maps — the ultimate showdown
i’ve watched this about ten times now. it’s classsssssic.
with this type of skit, snl must be so glad the internet was invented. through my laughter and the crappy sound of the tv’s speaker, there’s no way i’d be able to follow all the jokes in the lyrics.
not to nerd out, but does anyone hear the “champ” horn (eric be for president horns) right at the beginning of the “NARNIA then it’s happening?”
the beat is fun.
Also, i’ve posted anonymously multiple times in here already.
