google local for mobile phones has secret european maps




with all the google products sprouting like crabgrass, it’s possible that you’ve never even heard of google local for mobile - a new service that lets you access google maps and local information on your java-powered mobile phone. they state that it’s only for the usa right now, but intrepid google-geeks have uncovered a cache of secret european google maps that even allow for driving directions. as these maps aren’t yet on the online version of google maps, this is a good sign that things are coming soon. in the meantime, enjoy those crazy satellite photos.
